Envisioning an Online Translation
of Newspapers
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When asked to design a publication for the future, I immediately thought of my friends, many of them reporters or avid consumers of news. What would the future of news consumption be when all content is read online, essentially opinionated blogs and unedited data, without any means for filtering?

I proposed the concept of an online New York Times where the stories are arranged in the form of a big, moving spherical ball. The size and proximity of a headline to the user indicates an editorial hierarchy. But the viewer is given free reigns to navigate inside the sphere as deeply as they wish.

Additional features include a "File Cabinet", where users can drop in articles they wish to hold onto for later reading. Their reading habits also produce a completely unique pattern and coloring for their cabinet.
